Who can ask for a DBS check?
For most jobs, employers or voluntary organisations aren’t allowed to ask job applicants about previous convictions, because this may unfairly prevent the person from being employed. However for certain jobs such as those, where people work directly with adults at risk employers or voluntary organisations are required to undertake DBS checks.
The Board has produced a range of information to help raise the awareness of adult safeguarding and what can be done to stop adult abuse. You can print off copies of any of the following information:
- Safeguarding Adults public leaflet.pdf
- Safeguarding Adults - Cuecard.pdf
- Safeguarding Adults - easy read.pdf
If you are a provider or care and support or a local company and would like to receive a hard copy of any of the leaflets or posters please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
